The Clear Fund is the grantmaking arm of GiveWell. It is a federally recognized tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization, as shown by this document.

We have already raised enough money from core donors to cover the cost of our operations over the next year. Your donation will only be used to expand the size of our grants.

This means your donation will be given to the best charity/charities we can find in future rounds of research - while simultaneously improving our ability to conduct this research (since larger grants generally mean better access to information, as explained here).

Donations to the Clear Fund are processed by Google Checkout, which currently charges no fees.
